What is The Waltons Thankgiving about?
A follow-up to the highly successful Waltons’ Homecoming, this movie reunites the Walton family as they prepare for Thanksgiving in 1934. The Depression has affected everyone, but John Walton (Teddy Sears) has found a way to provide for his family through the farm and by picking up odd jobs from the eccentric Baldwin Sisters. It’s also the time of year for the Annual Harvest Festival Fair, where carnival rides, talent shows and pie contests become the center of attention for the Waltons. As the story unfolds, John Boy (Logan Shroyer) learns the true meaning of taking responsibility, Mary Ellen (Marcelle LeBlanc) comes to understand patience and collaboration, Grandma (Rebecca Koon) finds that winning can be complicated, and Olivia (Bellamy Young) shares her healing heart with every other Walton family member—at a time when each of them need it most. When a young boy enters the Waltons’ world, everyone’s life is changed in ways they could never have imagined—transformed forever through love, faith and kindness!

A Waltons Thanksgiving is based on characters from the 1970s series, The Waltons, that ran for nine seasons on CBS. The Waltons was created by Earl Hamner Jr. and was based off his book, Spencer’s Mountain.

Bellamy Young (Olivia Walton)
Young is best known for her role as First Lady Mellie Grant on ABC’s Scandal. She previously appeared on Criminal Minds, Castle and Scrubs.
Teddy Sears (John Walton Sr.)
Teddy Sears takes over for Ben Lawson who previously starred as John Sr. in The Waltons: Homecoming. Lawson was likely otherwise engaged filming the upcoming and final season of Firefly Lane. Sears is best known for his roles as Hunter Zoloman/Zoom on The Flash and as Kyle on Chicago Fire. He has also starred in Hallmark Channel’s Christmas in Evergreen opposite Ashley Williams and Holly Robinson Peete.
Logan Shroyer (John Boy)
Shroyer is probably most recognizable as the teenaged Kevin on This Is Us. His previous credits include The Thundermans and Gortimer Gibbons: Life on Normal Street.
