While touring with Train, Blues Traveler, Thunderstorm Artis and Will Anderson, Jewel’s tour bus suddenly ignited while in a hotel parking lot, resulting in major damage both to the interior and exterior of the vehicle. In a new video shared to social media, the 48-year-old singer said, “We had a full bus fire. Nobody was hurt, it happened on an off-day.” Pictures of the aftermath can be seen in the background, which included a number of broken windows and visible fire damage throughout the bus. Jewel continued: “The fire department came, everybody is safe. We saved the vintage guitar and guitar amp.” She ended the video with a little teasing, saying, “All’s well that ends well, but how ‘bout this bulls**t.” Along with Jewel’s statement, notes written on screen during the video said, “Thank you fire fighters and department!!!” and “Our bus driver is a hero for saving the vintage gear!” The text also explained that the front desk of the hotel saw the fire and contacted both Jewel’s bus driver and the fire department almost immediately. According to officials, the cause was an electrical fire that appears to have started at the back of the bus. Jewel answered a few comments on her video, with one fan asking, “Was this the same bus that broke down in the middle of the night?,” to which the singer simply replied, “Yep,” with a cheeky smile emoji. Another fan replied: “Welp guess it’s time for a new bus.” But not before someone else could claim the tour’s bus driver, as their father. To which Jewel wrote back: “He’s such a great guy!!!! The band loves him!” Prior to the fire, Jewel had been performing her most recent album, Freewheelin’ Woman, on her AM Gold tour. Her last concert was on Aug. 6, in Morrison, Colorado at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. More News:
