Getting to sit inside a majestic venue in one of the world’s most beautiful and historic cities, hobnobbing with stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe while feasting your eyes, ears and heart on next Outlander episode a full two weeks ahead of schedule with a ticket that was absolutely free… sound too good to be true? Well, that’s exactly what StarzPlay UK (which carries the series abroad) offered fans the chance at in a Feb. 10 announcement. Balfe also let her Instagram followers know about the can’t-miss event, telling them in her own Feb. 10 post, “Hey Outlander fans! Save the date because @starzplayuk has a very special Valentine’s gift coming your way with a chance to attend the Outlander Season 6 World Premiere Event in London!” In addition to enjoying a red carpet entrance, attendees will be treated to live performances by the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Philharmonia Chorus Choir. (Our guess? Get ready for a live rendition of the always rousing Outlander theme, “The Skye Boat Song.”) After the screening, the cast will head onstage for a live panel conversation, along with the executive producers, moderated by Scottish TV and radio presenter Edith Bowman. (An official list of which Outlander stars will also attend hasn’t been revealed, but given that both Balfe and Heughan mentioned the event on social media, we’re guessing they’ll both be there.) U.S. fans might still have a way to witness the event, even if they can’t hop a plane across the pond right now. “U.S. fans, stay tuned for more info about how to attend virtually,” the @Outlander_STARZ Twitter account noted in a followup tweet about the event. It’s not clear whether the actual episode will be available for streaming, or just the red carpet and live panel. Either way, it’s the next best thing to being there in person, so we’ll take it! Outlander fans in Scotland can also catch the premiere episode of the sixth season a few days early at the Glasgow Film Festival on Thursday, March 3. Tickets for that event are also free, but only available the day of the screening at the film festival box office. The Scotsman reported that Heughan may possibly be attendance for the lucky Sassenachs who score tickets. The much-anticipated Season 6 of Outlander has been two years in the making, with Season 5 premiering way back in February 2020. Delays in production of the sixth season due to the pandemic meant that this was a particularly long Droughtlander. In addition, the new season, based on the sixth Outlander book by Diana Gabaldon, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, will only be eight episodes long due to a shortened production schedule. However, wherever and whenever you finally get to enjoy Outlander Season 6, may we suggest you do so while kicking back with a wee drama (of Heughan’s own blended Scotch, The Sassenach, of course) and get ready to enjoy the show!
