To mark the occasion, a new photo of Duchess Camilla was released in which she poses in a blue floral dress at a garden table with a cup of tea in a saucer and a bowl of peaches. The peaches were grown at Camilla’s country home of Raymill in Wiltshire. The six-bedroom house is close to Prince Charles’ beloved Highgrove. Clarence House, which represents Charles and Camilla, said that the day will be celebrated “privately with a small family dinner.” Camilla guest-edited Country Life magazine last month and in the issue her son Tom Parker Bowles wrote poetically about the peaches that his mother grows for the use in one of her favorite desserts, peach melba. “My mother is a keen grower of white peaches,” he wrote, adding that the subject for his column was “very much her idea.” An additional portrait by Chris Jackson was released via the royal family’s Twitter account, in which Camilla poses on a red-painted caravan with one of her rescue dogs in her lap. Meanwhile Prince William and Duchess Kate posted a picture of Camilla in a lavender cardigan amid a field of wildflowers with the caption “Wishing a very happy 75th birthday to The Duchess of Cornwall today!” The Duchess of Cambridge herself was probably the artist behind the lens—Camilla is wearing the same outfit as when Kate captured her recently for the cover of Country Life that the Duchess of Cornwall edited. Camilla and Charles, 73, have been married since 2005.
