All it takes is a casual monthly disposable income of $45K, so, we can’t help but wonder: do you think they take payment plans? The property, located at 23 Cornelia Street, is a single-family home that was first converted from a carriage house into a two-story unit. Eventually that was renovated into a four-story home by David Aldea, the previous owner and Swift’s former landlord. When Swift needed a place to stay while her own Tribeca penthouse was being updated she fell in love with his style and rented the property as-is, fully furnished, for $38K a month, according to People. The “Cornelia Street” singer didn’t even live there a year, but her time at the dreamy address was so memorable that she dedicated a song to the historic home on 2019’s Lover. Aldea told Vulture that he was “honored” by the track. “I put my heart and soul into building, designing, and decorating this house, and for somebody like Taylor to come along and see what I saw and love what I loved, love what I created, it was a total compliment and I will always be grateful to her for that." It’s no wonder she fell hard and fast for the property, located in the heart of the West Village. According to the listing from The Corcoran Group, it boasts over 5,000 square feet of living space, including a very rare drive-in garage, four bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half-baths, and countless other luxuries. They describe the design as “modernist flair,” spanning a dedicated guest suite, an indoor pool and lounge, and multiple outdoor living spaces—including a rooftop terrace with unobstructed downtown views—featuring high, beamed ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, three gas fireplaces, hardwood floors, updated kitchen appliances, and more. Aldea sold the property in 2019 for $11.5 million, according to Zillow, but come Jan. 15, it could still be yours to live in. Speaking of, does anyone out there want to go in on it like a timeshare?
