Will there be a second season of The Flight Attendant?

The Flight Attendant will have a second season, despite initially wrapping up neatly at the conclusion of Season 1. Cuoco told TV Line in February 2021, “We had such a great Season 1, but I want it to even be better, even though that’s hard to do, and I want to come out swinging. What I appreciate with the show, with [showrunner] Steve [Yockey] and our writers, is they really let me go ballistic… I would like to go ballistic again and keep spreading my wings because it just became its own entity and I don’t even know what I did half the time. I kind of just left it on the field and walked away, like, ‘Well, f**k, I hope that worked!’”

Is there a trailer for The Flight Attendant Season 2?

Season 2’s first teaser trailer arrived on March 17, promising that Cassie will be dealing with a “new city, new job and even more secrets.” It opens with Cuoco asking fans, “Asking yourself what predicaments Cassie could get into in Season 2? Well here’s a sneak peek at the new season of The Flight Attendant.” She’s then seen in character as Cassie, revealing in an AA meeting that she’s “still a flight attendant and I’ve been making better choices. I moved to L.A., met this great guy, picked up a part-time job”—which happens to be espionage! She continues, “I kind of feel like I’m turning into this whole new person.” We then see Ani (Zosia Mamet) telling Cassie that her life is like a John Le Carré spy novel (yep!) before major explosions, both literal and figurative.

When is The Flight Attendant Season 2 release date?

Yep, Season 2’s no-longer-estimated time of arrival will be Thursday, April 21, 2022, as revealed on March 17 along with the first Season 2 teaser trailer. The show began filming Season 2 in September 2021 and, according to a February 2022 post on Cuoco’s Instagram, shot for seven months across three countries. Cuoco commemorated the end of Season 2 filming by adding in the post, “That’s an official wrap on Season 2… What a cast, what a crew, what a team!! There are no words to describe my gratitude. Can’t wait for you to see what we did!”

What will happen in Season 2 of The Flight Attendant?

The Flight Attendant Season 2 will follow Cassie’s sobriety journey and the twists and turns it brings. Cuoco teased to Deadline, “Cassie is trying to live a sober life, and also trying to be the fun Cassie. She thinks she’s not enjoyable when she’s not drunk. She thinks that’s who she is. So to take that away from her; to try and live a normal existence, she’s gonna learn really fast that it’s not going to work for her. She also looks at life in black and white. She thinks she’s sober now, and so here comes her perfect life, and it is not going to turn out that way for her at all. There’s so much temptation around; she moves to LA to Santa Monica and has a sober boyfriend.” Cuoco also made it clear that Cassie isn’t exactly in the running to be a James Bond or Ethan Hunt type. “She is an asset, she’s not a magical CIA agent. She’s trying to keep secrets and she’s terrible at it,” she said. “She’s street smart and quirky, but it’s a small side gig next to her normal life, and she has to keep being reminded of that as well.” Yockey told The New York Timesthat examining the inner workings of Cassie’s mind is a key part of Season 2 to understand her motivations and decisions. “What if we go down this route of her living this new lifestyle, trying to be sober and clean up her act, and there is no excuse anymore? And what does work now look like? What does love now look like? The drinking was a symptom of the emotional trauma, and all the other stuff was a byproduct of the drinking,” he said. “So we’ll see when she gets sober. It doesn’t mean that the rest of the erratic behavior calms down.” That means that we’ll see Cassie’s “mind palace” again. Yockey told TV Line, “It would have to be present in some way, shape, or form, [but] it would look different. In our finale, she has that beautiful moment where she walks through the mind palace and shuts it all down, basically, so I think that iteration of the mind palace is done. That one has to do with Alex, and she’s moved on from that, but there would be some new version of it that would have to exist in a series.”
